In doing the literature review it is finally clear to me (belatedly) that I'm going to have to marry business with education - an uneasy, but common, marriage at best. Six sigma - other businessy terms and Americanisms are going to be on speaking terms with me.

My trouble is, as a completly partial "involvee", I tend to laugh at American terms, such as "beachhead" (a topical one at work at the moment). It is only on reflection that they appear to acquire meaning and aptness.

Now Six Sigma seems to be important (and I only just found out!)
